Summary/Abstract: In this article, I have researched the Latin borrowings in medicine that have entered the Romanian language through German. These borrowings constitute a complex image of the linguistic interferences from the lexical – semantic field. The Romanian language is a “hospitable” language, which easily assimilates borrowings from other languages, and one of its main features is the ease with which it absorbs Latin neologisms, especially at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th centuries, when important sectors of literary Romanian’s vocabulary were enriched with Latin terms. In this article we focused our attention on the Latin borrowings in the field of medicine.
