Summary/Abstract: The courts of Galaţi were reorganised according to article 280, chapter VIII of the Organic Regulations. On February 15, 1832, The Session House of Covurlui District was founded, led by a president and two assessors. The institution operated under this name until 1858, becoming afterwards the District Court (until 1864) and the Court of Covurlui County (between 1865 and 1952). During most of this time, the Court had two sections, except for the years 1890-1891, when it had one section, and 1939-1941, when it had three.
