Summary/Abstract: Hesitations belong to the typical markers of spoken language. And there are several kinds of linguistically relevant hesitations. What are the hallmarks of hesitation in spoken Romanian? What are the most probable points where the Romanian speaker is going to break his speech? Does spoken French behave somehow differently, in this respect, compared to spoken Romanian? If so, what are the actual differences between the two languages, and what is their exact nature? These are the questions the present paper is addressing, in terms of Pierre Le Goffic’s syntactical approach to texts, in general, and to spontaneous spoken productions, in particular.
