Summary/Abstract: The author publishes, comments and analyzes previously unknown correspondence of Josip Henneberg. Majority of the letters were written from jail, since Henneberg was one of the students who demonstratively burned Hungarian tricolore in Zagreb on October 16th 1895. He was therefore sentenced to 3 months in prison. In his letters he describes everyday-life in prison, but also expresses his national and political views as a supporter of the Party of the (Croatian State) Right. Another major part of the correspondence was written in 1896 during the Russian tour of the Croatian students' band of tamburaplayers.
