Summary/Abstract: The service of Liturgy of the Church of Jerusalem known as the Liturgy of St. Jacob present a return to our liturgical roots, as it is showing to us the way how the Church Fathers lived and worshiped. This liturgy presents indubitably a great invention of our time and reuse of this ancient liturgical text we owe to the modern progress in Liturgiology Science. From the perspective of Orthodoxy, it was sorrowful to observe, and for a long time, that the conclusions considering the ancient orders of worship are being adopted by the heterodox (non-Orthodox) Christians as their own legacy, and that we did not realize that they belong to us, that they compose our heritage, the legacy of the Orthodox that can not be, and shouldn’t be reduced and artifi cially limited to that that we consider as „Byzantine” tradition.
