Disabilities in the Conteporary World and the Role of Music

Summary/Abstract: The author, on the basis of her own experience of working with people with disabilities, has shown the important role of music in special needs education. She makes an overview of literature regarding the studied problem, and she characterizes the main concepts used in the discourse, as well as the patterns of education based on the use of music. She presents the results of her own research concerning the role of music in the life of people with mental disabilities.
