Summary/Abstract: Risk is one of the most important factors influencing project development success or failure. The preliminary method of risk assessment in project development was traditionally attributed to the feasibility study. Feasibility study has, however, evolved in recent years beyond this original role with possibly negative result in regard to the quality of risk assessment. It provides failure as it has been proven by risk-analysis in numerous investment projects, especially within EU. It is argued that feasibility primary role should be the support of risk analysis in the construction of contract procurement. In the paper the tasks attributed to risk assessment within feasibility study are discussed and further comparison between different scopes of analysis under different contractual regimes is conducted.
