Summary/Abstract: Non-linguists usually treat personal names (names, surnames, nicknames, pseudonyms) either positively or negatively, which is due to the semantuics of these words. More precisely, this is due to the interface between the origin of proper names and the corresponding appellative and/or because of the phonic structure (pleasant/unpleasant sound). The research has focused on historical, social and other counter-positions of proper names. Evaluative comments of proper names as well as metalingual comments of other functional semantic groups help disclose the society's linguistic sense and linguistic taste. Their research results and conclusions could facilitate the organization of the society's linguistic education in a different way, perhaps with different foci.
