Summary/Abstract: Implementing the concept of sustainable development is one of the major challenges facing the modern world. One of the instruments creating sustainable development might be state aid. State aid has an impact not only on the economic but also on the environmental and social sphere. State aid can have beneficial, harmful or neutral impact on the implementation of sustainable development. The impact of state aid should be considered including economic, social and environmental spheres. Therefore, such an important issue is to evaluate the measure of state aid from the standpoint of its impact on sustainable development. The design of aid programs does not assess their impact on sustainable development. Judgments are only a measure of the impact of competition. However, the assessment should be subjected to an impact on sustainable development, because it may be that the implementation of the aid program is in contradiction with the principles of sustainable development. The main objective of the article is to present an integrated assessment framework as a tool for identifying beneficial state aid from the point view of sustainable development. The article will present the characteristics of this tool as well as its function of for assessing the state aid granted in Poland on the basis of selected assistance program. The article will show necessary directions of work on improving this tool to assess the granted aid better.
