Summary/Abstract: Granting state aid can distort competition on the market. Therefore it is important to limit it. A very important aspect in the context of granting state aid should be the analysis of influence of granted support on the environment. Granting state aid we should answer the question what influence the granted state aid will have on the environment. This impact can be determined as advantageous, neutral or harmful. From the point of view of the environmental the most important issue should be the identification of environmentally harmful state aid. The aim of this article is an attempt of definition of environmentally harmful state aid. The article also points out the areas where this support can be granted and explains the term of state aid and harmful state aid.
