Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to discuss one of the most important theories in the works of Carmen Martin Gaite: the theory of the interlocutor. Having adopted the theoretical texts of the author (the articles collected in La búsqueda de interlocutor and in El cuento de nunca acabar) as a point of reference, we analyse the use and evolution of the concept in her novels which are the subject of the present study (Entre visillos, El cuarto de atrás, Nubosidad variable).
