Polish upper class – research, problems and dilemmas

Summary/Abstract: Polish upper class can be seen as an interesting scientific problem. This is the very first attempt of diagnosis from the point of view of economics. The evolution of Polish upper class and its stages are described in the paper, as well as the results of a survey. The difficulties in the recognition and description of that class are caused not only by lack of analogies with other markets (almost 60 year gap of existence of such a class in Poland), but also by its impenetrability and isolation. The main obstructions and difficulties that the author faced are presented in the paper.
