Summary/Abstract: “I had to be content with the idiosyncrasies decipherable from newspaper lines, I had to build up my grandfather’s portrait as an actor from newspaper reviews of the age.” The author reconstructs the everyday life of a provincial Hungarian theatre on the basis of the presented documents, through the portrait of an actor. The author is the grandson of the actor, Lajos Bónis.
