Summary/Abstract: A Dariusz Zawiślak film based on Słowacki's “Balladyna” is according to the director designed to make a message of the Polish romantic drama understandable for the viewers all over the world. In order to achieve this goal the director locates the story of Balladyna and Alina in the contemporary New York. His film approaches a form of an erotic thriller convention. The author of the review mercilessly lists all defects of Zawiślak's production which demonstrate that contemporary director missed to understand the meaning of the romantic drama.
