Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, in the knowledge society we live in, knowledge travels faster and easier than ever. The global nature of many present issues requires cooperation between nations, and a sustained interaction with the whole world. In this context, whereas international communication has become a necessity, learning English becomes a matter of major importance. All around the world, people of all ages are learning English, even if their reasons differ greatly. Some learners study English as they need it in their work, some students learn it because it is on the curriculum, while others think it will be useful for intercultural communication or travel, and consequently learning English reflects their free choice.
