Summary/Abstract: Translation renews the dialogue among cultures and civilisations, and ensures the free flow of ideas. It builds a bridge between different cultures, people all over the world, cultural values and mentalities, religious or political beliefs. So, by conveying information through time and space, language barriers are broken down, cultural and linguistic boundaries are crossed over. The history of translation is the history of the permanent intersections in the world culture. The role of translation is to bridge the differences between different cultures and languages, which are symbols of that specific cultural identity. So, translation is a cross-cultural process, as well as an increasingly widespread cultural phenomenon.
