Summary/Abstract: In the present paper we analyze the functioning of hydronyms in language communication in context of an official public and an unofficial private relations. Closer we explicate the process of standardization of hydronyms and on the basis of binary pairs and in diachronic and synchronic view we illustrate the specific examples of selected river-basins.
