Women in the Management of Public Organizations

Summary/Abstract: The massive presence of women in institutions, companies and other organizations is not reflected in the same way in the management structures. The majority of women have only an execution job whereas their presence in the middle and high managemente is rather low. The current trend in management style is for shared (democratic) management that is adopted especially by women because it responds better to their features. This paper contains a study regarding the presence of women from Bistrita-Nasaud county in the leadership of political parties and public institutions and it contains also an analysis of the presence of women in high education institutions - in our case Babes-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca.
