Summary/Abstract: The concept of identity that is emerged in the last century, is nowadays indispensible to the researches in the field of immigration, religion, gender, nationalism and ethnicity. A conceptual changes regarding identity perception has been occurred recently and the content of identity concept has been changed extensively. Identity as a concept that determines a person’s attitudes towards his society and culture has been changed from modernism to postmodernism thoroughly in many respect. On the other hand, the transformations of the religion concept in the wake of modernization process made the role of religion in the constructing of identity discussable. Especially, as the secularization approach indicates, the appearance of fragmented identities in the modernization process leads these efforts to a stalemate. This study aims to examine the process of the Turkey’s identity search regarding the religion and identity within a constructive approach.
