Summary/Abstract: The word “ok”(arrow) is one of the oldest word of Turkish. Like this word, some words in a language can change the basic meaning and have different meanings in history. As is known, the word “ok” had/has the meaning indicating a war-tool which is a long-thin stick with a shrap tip thrown by arc. The word “ok” is one of the words that has got the connotative meaning in the course of time. One of the connotation of the word “ok” is drawing of lots in order to share a heritage, portion, or cut in some Anatolian dilaects like Manisa dialect. In the dictionary of Clauson, he claims that the word “ok”with a long vowel had the meaning of share (hisse) and cut (pay) before 11th century in old Turkish, too. During the area study in Manisa and its enviroment, the word “ok” has been determined in the meaning of “drawing of lots” to share the haritage or cut. In this study we try to examine and show this connotationf the word “ok” .
