Summary/Abstract: The Greek Fathers did not merely analyse the Hellenic culture in critical way, but also went deep enough in it and made creative connections with their premises. This took different shapes. At the level of culture, for example, many things have been accepted and have been made concrete as natural feasts and rituals of different sorts. At a philosophic level, all the questions gathered by the Greeks were regarded as rightful, above all other ontological preoccupations of the Greek thought, which was mostly foreign to the Holy Gospel and the Semitic culture. The philosophical concepts were promptly borrowed and used in theology. The Greek language was adopted in some parts where Greek was not spoken while the utilisation of Latin in the West has never been a problem for the unity of the Church.
