Summary/Abstract: Several of the world's icons can be easily connected with Bosnia and Herzegovina, although it is completely certain that no modern fact of the regnant world paradigm can be analysed right in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The problem of ecology and sustainable development in the country, which coercively (during the war and agression, above all) «abandoned» the dirty technology, is also related to the fact that there was a recession in the development stadium and all the other parameters which can be nearly compared with the 8th decade of the last century. Therefore, the happiness regarding the unpolluted rivers and air in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a notable fact, and it is been overlooked in the local scientific considerations. Also, this fact can not be noticed in the tough daily life in Bosnia. The social environment and above all the political games in and around Bosnia and Herzegovina have a direct impact on every kind of ecology, even on the social ecology, which is still in a profiling phase.
