UNDISCOVERED FACTS IN THE HISTORY OF LITERATURE: THE PROTECTOR AND THE UNEXPECTED MAN BY TUDOR ARGHEZI

Summary/Abstract: The history of Romanian literature does not mention anything related to unpublished works of the poet, novelist and publicist Tudor Arghezi. A small part from the manuscript of an unpublished text written by Tudor Arghezi (Patronul – The Protector) was published in 2005 in a volume containing his articles which appeared in different newspapers and magazines between 1933 and 1940. The manuscript is the draft of a novel he intended to write. The novel was meant to be dedicated to the industrialist Nicolae Malaxa, a friend and protector of Tudor Arghezi. In 2007 the editor Gheorghe Pienescu published in Romania literară the rough copy of a novel that Tudor Arghezi also intended to write, The Unexpected Man.
