Summary/Abstract: The phenomenon of historical politics is dealt with through analysis of the structure of the discourse, discussing its phased, tripartite pattern. Taking the national-radical poetry and poetics of the 1930s as an example, attempting as it was to revaluate and reinterpret the Polish Romanticist-tradition legacy, the author introduces the category of trauma and resentment as an important element of oppositional discourse confronted against an official State-forming narrative that from the authority’s position codifies and legitimises the above-described structure of historical politics as a language of convention and – as young radical nationalists believed – oppression. However, this ‘story-telling through (a) trauma’ and ‘speaking through complexes’ appears to be more perilous and not-so-easily-discreditable a tactics than the official historical politics. This is because it refers to collective myths – rooted in the society, irrational, a-historical, timeless and testable in any situation.
