Summary/Abstract: As one can observe from his latest works, Jürgen Habermas is becoming more and more interested by international relations. The globalized world, despite its inherent dangers, entailed the need to rethink classical `political communities` (states) in order to adapt them to the multiculturality and social dynamics present in the contemporary societies. However, for Habermas, this provocation is no longer shifted within critical theory, although it remains emancipatory and of universal proportion. In this paper, I tried to prove that social-constructivism represents now, in the field of international relations, the most suited theory to cope with the German philosopher’s universal project.
