Summary/Abstract: This research is aimed at giving a description of the current vocal features characteristing the speech in Golo Bardo – a Bulgarian dialect beyond the borders of Bulgaria today. The specific features of the vocal sounds of that speech predetermines their classification in two microsystems which constitute the macrosystem of vocalisms. In it there are five vocal sound of invariant nature (i, е, о, u, а) and two which form one variphone (“varying phoneme” – ô//ъ), i. е. varying sounds of lower phonological value set at subphonemic (phonetic) level. That specific feature is characteristic for the geographic area of that speech pattern that has resulted from gathering together the effects of ,ulty-direction impulses in the periphery of the Bulgarian language areal.
