THE DIALECT BASIS OF LYUBEN KARAVELOV’S LANGUAGE

Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of lexical dialectisms in Karavelov’s language. So far, they haven’t been studied in detail but have been referred to only as separate examples in other research. The researchers stress above all the main contribution of the publicist Karavelov to the development of the Bulgarian literally language – the establishment of the system of social-political and cultural lexis and phraseology. Unfortunately, the popular national lexis and phraseology, so characteristic of Karavelov’s poetic and fiction work, do not merit their attention.
