THE NOVELISTIC SUBGENRE OF THE FAMILY CHRONICLE: HISTORICAL AND THEORETICAL ISSUES

Summary/Abstract: The article considers the specificity of a particular type of prose-roman family chronicles, identifies its defining features: linear сhronicality and family issues (availability of several generations of the same genus, the microclimate of the family, the problem of fathers and children), the specificity of historicism. Drawing on the experience of creative work of Russian writers, whose works have become widely known in the past two decades, the author makes a conclusion that this genre has a lot of perspectives in the literature.
