Summary/Abstract: The current economic conditions, characterized by a strong competition for scarce resources urges managers in every area of activity to carefully assess the way resources (financial, material, human capital, information etc) are allocated. The area of Advanced Distributed Learning is a challenge in terms of planning and organizing resources, as it is future-oriented and a key issue in this respect is to correctly evaluate both the costs and the effectiveness of the system. This paper intends to analyze the ways in which we can identify the types of costs and the performance indicators used to quantify the effectiveness of the system.
