Summary/Abstract: The article is related to the problem of new social divisions which are a consequ- ence of symbolic elites discursive strategies. The outcomes of rhetorical analysis of texts of two we- ekly magazines: „Polityka” and „W Sieci” were presented in the paper. The main aim of the research was to ascertain the dominant narrations in weekly magazines rhetoric and to describe the discourse on the linguistic level. It was substantial to establish how far the proposed reality descriptions differ from each other and they can lead as in consequence to a permanent divisions between communities connected with investigated magazines. It was also presupposed in the paper that contemporary political discourse occurs is the form of ritual chaos which does not allow the symbolic elites to negotiate the senses and political objectives set up for the governing and the society.
