Legal Regulations Regarding Hungarian Diaspora

Summary/Abstract: This is the first study to examine the partly developed status of various members of the Hungarian nation living either in the Carpathian Basin as a minority, or as emigrants all over the world. The author analyzes approximately 150 legal sources issued over the last decade dealing with the Diaspora. The study covers national and international public law as well as state budgeting and public administration to consider applications to Diaspora policy over a period where governments changed. The ambivalent nature of Diaspora policy is illustrated through the legal analysis.
