Summary/Abstract: The collapse of the Yalta-rooted system opened up new opportunities for exerting influences in the East. Progressing European integration also provided the EU with new instruments of Eastern Policy. The author examines the EU’s Eastern policy in four aspects: democratization mission, enlargement policy, neighborhood policy and the Union’s emerging subjectivity.
