Official First Names of Men in the Colonies of Stará Turá

Summary/Abstract: The paper provides an analysis of the age structure of 699 men living in the colonies of Stará Turá in the Trenčín region, West Slovakia. Príspevok podáva analýzu vekovej štruktúry mužského obyvateľstva a jeho rodných mien na kopaniciach Starej Turej v Trenčianskom kraji. Most men were born in 1950’s. 90 distinct names have been found in one time, the most frequent of which are Ján, Milan and Jaroslav. The name Ján is still popular (13,6 % of all men), though since 1980’s it no longer occupies the first position.
