Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the relationship between psychoanalysis and anthropology, focusing on the issues raised by Freud’s text, Totem and Taboo, on the original social and on the origin of the law. Freud kept throughout his work the “primal horde scenario” for its heuristic value and, paradoxically, this theoretical position has been the source of the approaches that led to the disqualification of the Freudian anthropology.
