Summary/Abstract: Taking into account the new facade of Europe, and implicitly of the European Union, which is no longer just a geographical or a political term but summarizes a number of concepts of the various European institutions, of all people living in Europe and of the rest of the world, our study examines the issue of identity and values of the European citizen, respectively the impact of globalization on social cohesion. The paper also brings into question the contribution of international mobility to development, stressing the importance of cohesion and tolerance in the host/receiver country through support and awareness.
