Summary/Abstract: The article deals with problems connected with neosemantisms in contemporary Polish. The author analyses and describes some new meanings of the culinary vocabulary, which we can find in women's periodicals. The reason for this process is both native changes in meaning (for example: posypka, przegryzka, tatar) and semantic borrowings from English (for example: chips, drink, koktajl). Some of them are necessary in modern texts, but there are also some unnecessary changes among them and simply lexical mistakes.
