Summary/Abstract: The Biblical image of Mary Magdalene in the interpretation of Lesya Ukrainka, a Ukrainian poet of the turn of the 20th century. The author of this article presents the image of Miriam - the protagonist of the poetic drama entitled Oderżyma [A Woman Possessed] by Lesya Ukrainka, a well-known Ukrainian poet composing at the turn of the 20th century. The interpretation of the poetic image rests on the theory of intertextuality, which allows the author to exhibit and expound all the levels of senses and references that the image relates to.
