Summary/Abstract: Teacher training in Cieszyn has a long history starting from XIX up to XXI century. At first, teachers-to-be were taking pedagogical courses, later they were studying at teacher training seminars, then in The Pedagogical College. Nowadays, candidates for the teaching profession study pe3dagogy at The University of Silesia, on the Faculty of Sciences of Education - on a full-time and week-end basis.
