Summary/Abstract: “How we will understand this pope?” It was the question of one woman present at St. Peter’s Square 16 of September 1978. During his long pontificate he presented himself as an open man to the humanity and the world. His main characteristics are his gestures and his language. Both serving the communication with the concrete people. Among his most popular gestures are those which has demonstrated his attitude towards poor, children, ill and youth. His language was very special. He asked rather than commanded. He wished rather than declared. He was not avoiding imperative mood, but if it was the case, his imperative statements were always rooted in the prayer or in the Bible. So, this way it was not him who was the authority but the real authority is God himself.
