Summary/Abstract: The main factor determining a successful career today is the capacity for forming personal employability understood as attractiveness on the labour market. The level of employability depends on the contents and quality of career capital an individual has managed to accumulate. The article presents a concept of career capital that draws on major economic and sociological theories in this field as well as on the findings from an empirical survey of knowledge workers in Poland.
