The European Union we need. The ascent of a global actor

Summary/Abstract: Europe needs to become better at managing its disagreements internally. Underpinned by its values and virtues, Europe has achieved many of its foreign policy goals. But now it seems reluctant in applying the same principles that make it a global power in redefining internally a more cohesive and united Europe. We are advocating the return to the core principles that delineate the European Union. Their efficiency has been tested. The foreign policy of the EU, based solely on these principles, has managed to appeal, unlike the US, to the majority of the world’s countries. So, if they work on the outside, why can they be used on the home front as well?
