Summary/Abstract: Albanian and Balkan projects for common states or federations During the XX century Albanian question come into the European political scene with all its potential. It coincided with a period, when neighbor Balkan states were on the pick of their life as national entities, and the Balkan nationalism was in their apogee. At the Second World War Albanian political forces, right and left wings, make some efforts to cooperate with other respective political forces in the region. They presented some projects for the creation of a Balkan Federation after the war. During the war, the anti-Greek and anti-Yugoslav predisposition of the Albanian nationalist forces was apparent. Their policy itemized the preservation of the country’s territorial integrity as the first priority. The unfolding of the Greek territorial claims caused this tension and hostility. Nevertheless, Albanian nationalists tried and made proposals for a sincere cooperation between the two nations in the fight against Italian and German invaders. In this way, they aimed to weaken the Greek government’s expansionist campaign and to create an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation.
