Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the complexity and the problems regarding the knowledge of religion. The approaches of philosophy and theology are emphasized: the relationships between reason and belief, mind and emotions, explanation and understanding of the phenomenon are analyzed. The classical philosophical ideas and the contemporary debate on the topic are exposed in comparative perspective.
