Modern Russian intelligentsia: premature conversation

Summary/Abstract: The article shows the number of the factors which had noticeable im-pact on the change of the social status of Russian intelligentsia at the bound-ary of the XX—XXI centuries, the main strategy of a survival which allowed the intelligentsia to endure economic and political crises of that time, some problems of self-identification of the modern intelligentsia. Special attention in the article is paid to a role of new information technologies in further des-tiny of the native intelligentsia and to the first results of discussion about the so-called «new intelligentsia» which was initiated by journalists of the Mos-cow News in 2012.
