Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of a research done in 2006 among young Polish people at the age of 16-18, who attended a natural-scientific secondary school in Wroclaw (Poland). In the survey the youngsters were asked about their conceptions and notions concerning their self-image as ‘young Poles’ (Autostereotypes) and about their conceptions of Germany and the ‘Germans’ (Heterostereotypes). The study belongs to the system- and cultural-theoretically oriented research of peoples’ worldview and has the intention to prove the existence of a culturally specific worldview empirically and to learn something about its characteristics and functions.
