Summary/Abstract: The creation of modern Russian textbooks for foreign students based on the linguacultural conception of teaching methods is one of the most important tasks in the contemporary linguadidactics. The article deals with the main linguadidactical features of a new student textbook of audiovisual course of Russian. The interactive character of the book is emphasized in the article. The author supposes that the content and structure of the textbook depends on the specific character and teaching tasks of the audiovisual course as a teaching subject. So the textbook of Russian audovisual course must provide students with the creation of a number of competences included in general communicative competence. The author analyses the principles and methods of choosing the audiovisual component of the textbook and additional texts for reading which are a sort of interactive cultural texts containing different actual problems. These texts should provocate students to participate in discussions. The system of exercises is also described in the article and the textbook is determined as a complex manual of interactive type. Due to the пассивcombination of video images and text materials the triad “reality  – textbook – teaching/learning process” is achieved: the visual component of the course provides with necessary language environment and the situations of real communication in Russian at the lecture. This approach plunges the students into Russian language and culture concept sphere and creates their vocabulary, communicative capacity and correct behaviour according to Russian communicative etiquette.
