Studying of the ethnical structure at the censuses in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The changes in the approach and the criteria of reflecting the ethnical structure of the population in Bulgaria at the censuses have been studied. All the censuses and population registrations close to them from 1866 to 1985 have been enveloped. The following periodization has been made: to 1880 from 1880 to 1900, from 1900 to 1946, after 1946. As an annex, a list of all ethnic names presented in the official publications on the results from the censuses from 1900 to 1975 is enclosed.
