Summary/Abstract: The author’s intention is to prove the thesis that a small business owner has a much higher level of efficiency and effectiveness if he is oriented towards the culture of the organization. The analysis starts by pointing out specific features of the owner-manager of a small company. Then the author draws attention to values, symbols, ways of communicating, rituals, myths and taboos, i.e. the manifestations of culture. Next she answers the question: why should managers raise awareness of the culture, who is the culture-oriented manager and what tasks does he have? A model-oriented culture of a small business manager is also presented, which characterizes the juxtaposition of the fundamental behavior and characteristics.
