Summary/Abstract: Semantic Values of Present Tense in the French Economic Press: The Case of Pro Futuro Present. This article deals with présent pro futuro in contemporary French. On the basis of Le Goffic and Lab (2001) study, we adopt a similar approach with some modifications concerning our corpus analysis. The corpus is composed of texts taken from Le Figaro and Les Echos in their online version and referring to the pension reform in France in 2010. Our main purpose consists in analysing the frequency and the value of the présent pro futuro based on co-textual and contextual criteria.
