Marin Sorescu - the Ironical spectacular

Summary/Abstract: Parody undoubtedly remains an essence in Sorescu’s poetry, which is configured as a reaction to the stimulus of literary convention, to the stereotypy of poetic language or as a response to previous poetic constructions. Defined in opposition to something else, it cannot be said that Sorescu’s poetry expresses itself with a decreased accent, with less simplicity. An un-mystifying perspective upon traditional poetic forms, turning into the everyday insignificance the profound aspects, Marin Sorescu’s poetry may also be seen as an immersion into the significant, original layers of the word, a sort of retrieval of its mythic roots or as nostalgia of its archetypal symbolic purity.
